Z-Wave is a wireless technology that forms a MESH network. This is a group of products that all communicate with each other. This allows the wireless signal to find the most efficient route around the network. As the name suggests the signal moves around the network in a "Z" formation enabling you to create Z-Wave home automation systems.
The Z-Wave light switch can be included and operated in any Z-Wave network with other Z-Wave-certified devices from other manufacturers and/or other applications. All non-battery-operated nodes within the network will act as repeaters regardless of vendor to increase the reliability of the network.
