Mi-Light MiBoxer Home Automation Gateways
Home automation gateways are the perfect way to create a home management system connecting lights to your smart devices like iPhone, iPad or Apple TV.
Adding a 2.4GHz or 433MHz Gateway/RF home automation Hub to your home installation will enable you to control your 2.4GHz or 433MHz Mi-Light / Mi-Boxer LED lighting from your smartphone...
You can also control your smart switch by voice control through your smart speaker, the Mi-Boxer Gateways are compatible with Amazon Alexa or Google Home smart speakers.
There are a number of Gateway options for lighting control systems, including a Wireless Gateway or a Wired Gateway (the 433MHz Gateway is wireless only). Both types connect to your router, one type connects wirelessly and the other type through a wired connection.
If you want to control your home automation system locally (within range of your Wi-Fi router) then you can install the wireless gateway.
Once the Gateway is connected to your home router you can then arrange your lighting products. For example, LED strips into virtual rooms giving them names such as “Lounge Main Lights”, “Guest Bedroom Lights” or “Garden Lights”.
Light switches can be sorted together into categories and controlled as a group to create scenes. If you have multiple lights in one room these can all be controlled individually or as a group of lights. Various routines can also be programmed so that the home lighting automation can switch on or off automatically at certain times of the day or when someone arrives home.
To control from outside your location (even overseas) you will need the wired gateway which connects to your home router using a wired connection.
With a wired Gateway, it is also possible to control your smart lights from virtually anywhere. Simply open the home app and select the lights you want to switch on or off and the Gateway will access the lighting for you. This is particularly handy if you go on holiday and forget to switch off your lights or maybe you want to switch them on occasionally for security purposes.
The ZIGBEE home automation gateway can be wired so that it will work with products that use the ZIGBEE protocol including Philips Hue and our Sunricher ZIGBEE products. The picture below shows the home automation lights on an iPhone connected via a ZIGBEE gateway.
