Why should I use 48V LED Strip instead of 24V?

48V LED strips operate at a lower current, which significantly reduces voltage drop. This allows for much longer continuous runs (up to 50m) from a single power source, whereas 24V is typically limited to 10m before requiring another power feed.

What is the difference between IP65 Nano and IP67?

IP65 Nano is a thin, invisible coating that protects against dust and light splashes, ideal for indoor use. IP67 is a full silicone encapsulation that is completely waterproof, making it suitable for outdoor use.

Do I need special drivers for 48V LED tape?

Yes, a dedicated 48V DC Constant Voltage LED Driver is essential. Standard 12V or 24V drivers are not compatible and will not power the strip.

Do I need to power the strip from both ends for a 50m run?

No. That is the primary advantage of the ProFlex 48V series. You can run up to 50m (Single Colour) or 40m (RGBW/CCT) from a single power feed at one end without noticeable brightness loss, saving significant installation time and cabling.

Can I cut the ProFlex 48V strip?

Yes, like standard LED tape, ProFlex has designated cutting points indicated by copper pads. Due to the 48V architecture, cut points are typically spaced further apart (e.g., every 100mm-125mm) than 24V tape. Always check the specific product SKU for the exact cutting interval.

How do I control or dim RGBW and CCT versions?

You will need a compatible controller rated for 12V-48V DC. We stock a huge range of control protocols including ZigBee, Wi-Fi, DMX, and RF.

Should I install this in an Aluminium Profile?

While 48V strips run cooler than lower voltage counterparts, we always recommend installing LED tape within an Aluminium Profile. This acts as a heat sink to prolong the lifespan of the LEDs and provides a professional, diffused finish to the light output.
