LED Heat Sink

An LED heat sink is an aluminium mounting base designed to improve thermal management for LED strip lighting. Installed beneath the LED strip, the heat sink helps dissipate excess heat generated during operation. This improves performance, protects the LEDs from overheating, and significantly extends the lifespan of the installation. Once the strip is secured to the heat sink, an LED profile and diffuser can be installed above to create a clean, professional lighting finish.

LED Heat Sink for LED Strips

Effective heat dissipation is essential for maintaining stable performance, consistent brightness, and long product lifespan.

LED strips naturally generate heat when operating. Without proper thermal management, this heat can build up and reduce efficiency, cause colour shift, and shorten the lifespan of the LEDs. By installing an aluminium heat sink beneath the strip, heat is transferred away from the LED components and dispersed into the surrounding environment.

Why Use a Heat Sink with LED Strips?

Using an LED heat sink helps maintain lower operating temperatures and protects the LED strip from thermal stress. This ensures reliable operation and helps preserve light output over time. The aluminium surface also provides a stable mounting platform for accurate and secure LED strip installation.

Completing the Installation

Once the LED strip is fixed to the heat sink, an LED profile and diffuser can be installed above it. This combination provides both improved thermal performance and a clean, professional lighting finish with smooth light distribution.
