When making any kind of connection or joint on the Flexi Rope product it is vital that the IP rating of the Flexi Rope is maintained especially if used outdoors. In addition to ensuring that the IP rating is maintained the Flexi Rope Heat shrink Sleeves help to make any joints much stronger so they can't be pulled apart. it is important then to also use the Flexi Rope Silicone Glue tube (available separately) to bond the heat shrink sleeve to the Flexi Rope.

Heat shrink Sleeves should be used when fitting end caps, starter cables and any joints.

When fitting the heat shrink sleeves, first slide the heat shrink sleeve over the Flexi Rope away from the joint then carefully apply the Flexi Rope Silicone Glue over the area on either side of the joint. Finally, slide the heat shrink sleeve over the joint and apply heat (using a heat gun) to the Heat Shrink sleeve until it is firmly gripping the joint. Wipe off any excess Silicone glue from either side of the heat shrink sleeve.
