This superb quality TRIAC dimmable driver from LED TECH will switch and dim your single colour 12v LED strip smoothly and without flicker when loaded between 5% & 100% (5w & 100w). Simply connect to your mains powered TRIAC Dimmer for smooth, flicker free dimming.
Unlike some dimmers that have a much narrower load tolerance. Providing the load does not exceed the 5-100% parameters you will have none of the associated dimming dropouts or flickering at low dimming levels that TRIAC dimmable drivers tend to suffer from.
Made from quality components this driver is IP66 rated so can be used in wet or damp environments (subject to the positioning restrictions with mains powered products) these drivers are ideal for swimming pool rooms, kitchen areas and bathrooms.
Please note that all connections to this driver should be made within an IP67 or IP68 rated junction box or Raytech connector cover to maintain the IP rating of the driver.
Powering 12v LED lights require a 12v LED power supply unit (PSU) / driver or LED transformer to connect the product to the mains. A constant current LED driver is a power supply that regulates the voltage supplied to a lighting product E.g. LED Tape/ LED Strip.
To get the best performance out of your drivers, only load the driver to around 75% of the drivers' value. E.g. A 100W driver runs at 75W, or a 200W driver should work at 150W.
Lighting transformers use a constant voltage for powering LED's. The LED light drivers total wattage should be more than the recommended. Different types of LED drivers will have different output voltages, make sure to select the correct constant voltage LED driver.
IP rating: Consists of 2 numbers: the first will indicate the level of protection against solid objects. While the second number will indicate the level of protection against liquids. The '6' on the IP rating stands for totally protected against dust, and the '7' stands for protected against temporary submersion. View our case study on IP ratings for further information on what they mean.
